alright, this took me longer than it should have. it's my favorite character out of this set of 6 characters i designed based on the noble gases. this one is xenon. i actually tried a sugimori styled sketch of him, i'll post it if i find it.

the badge is supposed to be a lightbulb with a lighting shaped wire in the middle. i was too lazy to grab my tablet to draw it, might do that later.

i spent hours and hours making pokemon teams for my characters. i could post the art if anyone cares.

I was inspired by this gym idea and decided to tweak it a bit and make it more jungly.

The idea is the gym leader is a traveller who picked up a variety of dangerously poisonous pokemon during his rainforest expeditions or something like that.

It's half grass half poison I know, but we all prefer themes to uninspired monotypes

My gym would be different. It's not based off a type but rather the concept of luck, chance, and fate. I wouldn't have a particular type but the Pokemon would learn moves that are either random, risky but rewarding moves, and desperation moves. My gym is based off the 4 seasons and I use 4 Pokemon to represent them. The gym is inhabited by the Gambler/PI class trainers. The puzzles involve playing various games of chance with them(cup and balls, 21, etc., represented by QTEs), if the game is lost you must battle them. The gym has ancient Greek architecture and the trainers sit in between columns going down a hall, blocking your path.

I tried to go for a tomb theme, like the gym is inside a buried temple or something, but ghost gyms are hard as hell to balance early game. Almost nothing evolves until 35+, so I had to reduce the number of mons so I could change something within the lineup each tier while keeping to the rough level format >>27711499

I figure Spiritomb works as a good boss-mon early game, since it has about the same total stats as a Miltank (485 to 490), but no weaknesses and normal immunity. I don't see a reason to bother forcing level 10 trainers to fight multiple ghost types.

Gyms use different teams of pokemon for different strength challengers. These aren't random "top percentage of rattata" trainers, they're gym leaders dedicated specifically to their type of pokemon. They have extras.

By "powermon" you mean bulky physical attacker? She has Weavile for powerful physicals attacks, but it's a glass canon. I'd actually rather wait for Rockruff's evolution, if it is really Rock/Dark werewolf it would probably fit her team.
Between the two you mentioned Krookodile probably fits better, since Pangoro is too wild and delinquent looking, it won't fit her overall aristocratic image. Krookodile doesn't really fit that well either, but it can pass as some sort of "bodyguard" in sunglasses.

Thought I'd make a follow up to my attempt all the way over at >>27687962 here. Dark type this time, in an attempt to match >>27716579 I suppose as I loved the idea of a classy femme fatale style Dark-type Gym leader. I wanted to try to make my own while making sure not to have any overlap in Pokemon or themes with this anon's Gym suggestion.

Bisharp was an easy choice as her classy butler.
