Whole idea, it basically based on a man in a mascot bear costume but is actually real.

It should be unsettling, it's a mascot animal that's a real bear. Unnatural lifeforms are inherently unsettling - go look back at surrealism and modernism for the tropes. Mascots in particular - human formed, lumbering things with scarily disproportionate limbs and heads - have a specially uncanny property that further drives the discomfort they present.
It's great, though.
