Honestly, I love the Fairy type. All I want from it are nice designs that fit somewhat conceptually (personally I think Jiggly, and Clefairy are perfect examples of good fairy types, Chansey I would have totally seen being fairy had it been released this gen and not Gen 1)
I don't mind the weakness to poison, either. They should at least throw us some new poison moves and some more poison types with good secondary typing as well that could be a larger presence in checking fairies.
I agree with what you said but all things considered I don't think it's simply the type that makes it great. There are reasons Sylveon outclasses other fairies, and Xerneas was just given a shitload of tools.
What do you guys think fairy should have resisted instead of bug that would at least kind of fit into the concept? That's one nerf to bugs that was not needed considering what a fucking wasteland that type is right now. They made a powerful new type resist an already low offensive one that sees 95% of its species with some of the lowest BSTs and terrible evolutions in the game.

Why is the Bug type so unloved by GF? Barring Gen V, every game has effectively shat on it for ages. Using a decent bug Pokemon has been such a scarcity that I actually completely forgot/had no idea that it was even good against Dark types. Why would I when Fairy and Fighting already decimated those.
Yet once again, there is Bug, destroyed by Fire and others, and now resisted by yet another type. Being Bug is suffering.

Steel and ghost are better defensive typings than fairy. Rock and Ground are better offensive typings. There is literally nothing wrong with fairy as a type.
Fairy type pokemon and moves might be a problem. Find a fairy type pokemon and give it steel or ghost instead of fairy and it will not be worse. Take a fairy type move and switch it to rock or ground and it wont be worse either.
I'm not getting sucked into this competitive black hole so I'll just play some single player and have fun. I'm about to kick some gym ass with my over leveled pokemon.

Honestly Dark being able to hit Steel for neutral damage is worth being weak to Fairy.

The AWP had a higher DPS than pre-nerf R8. The MP9 had a higher firerate than pre-nerf R8. There is literally nothing with the R8 Revolver as a gun.
R8's availability and cheap cost might be a problem. Find an R8 user and give them an AWP by round two and they will not be worse. Take an R8 and switch it to automatic and it won't be worse either.
