My assumption is that megas wont be the focus this generation (since there's already another huge new mechanic to focus on) and they will be relegated to post game. Under that assumption, it doesnt make a ton of sense to reveal features that are tucked away in the post game.

Thats pretty much why i think we havent seen much about the new megas (which are obviously going to be in the game) and we probably wont until the full Dex undoubtedly leaks.

And there is still nothing about White Kyurem and Black Kyurem being in the game, I wonder if they'll be removes

Unlike ORAS, Sun/Moon has a lot of new features to showcase and they're going spread them out until closer to release. ORAS didn't have much new stuff, so megas got shown early on.

I wouldn't be surprised to see no new megas and/or them being a postgame thing, but no way they're gone for good.

What people don't seem to understand are that megas are literally no different from forme changes. They're not going to remove megas the same way thry're not going to remove Rotom's or Deoxys' forms.

However I DO agree SM will have no new megas. Alolan forms are taking their spot of "updating old pokemon and giving them new types/stats"

I like megas, but they were poorly executed, and broke the metagame beyond repair. So I kinda wish they'd be gone. At the same time, I wanted megas for Golem, Machamp and the Johto starters...

Megas are "popular" enough that it's not like it would be a bad idea to show off some before the release... if they planned on actually making new ones. Which doesn't seem to be the case. Hope GF just makes some BS excuse, like megastones can only be found in Kalos and Hoenn so that we never have to see them again though.
