Hey guys. I haven't played pokemon in a crazy long time. Pokemon go has kind of re-kindled my pokemon love, and i'm willing to give the games another go. My friend wants me to get AS, because he got OR. What do you guys feel about ORAS? Worth getting this close to sun/moon?
Quick backround of version i've played:
red, blue, yellow
Silver
Some emerald, It wasn't mine.
Silver was so much fun for me when it came out, i played it nonstop all the time. Will the newer games give that feeling once again?

If you haven't played Hoenn yet, it's a good buy. Only get 1 gen 6 game though.
You should play HGSS next. Then BW->BW2
And maybe platinum

yes, do it

Yes get it. Then play Platinum, BW, BW2. In that order.

OK cool, thanks for the advice guys. One question though, why play bw/bw2/plat if they are older? Probably a really dumb question

Ehh different games are different experiences. They're not too different mechanically barring megas

It might feel weird going backwards, especially graphically, but every set of games has a few fun features.
Also, ORAS features almost entirely gen 3 Pokémon, and BW features almost entirely gen 5 Pokémon, with very few Pokémon from other generations introduced until post-game, so you'll get completely different experiences if you're not that familiar with them.

From a casual's PoV I'm sure you'll enjoy the games, but for me, ORAS were the only Pokemon games I've ever regretted buying.
>but they only had a year!
I've played many games that had just as much time in the oven or even less time (Super Smash Bros Melee for example) that were more fleshed out than ORAS
>but your only butthurt because it didn't include the battle frontier!
I can name numerous reason as to why ORAS disappointed me without so much as mention Battle.
But anyways, I doubt that ORAS will give you the same feeling as Silver, but since you're getting it for free, you might as well give it a shot.
