Going from 3DS XL to regular New 3DS - has anyone done it?

I need another 3DS, mostly for trading with myself in Pokémon, but also to have a back-up when traveling (in case it gets stolen or missing) and I'm looking at a new 3DS.

Mostly because the visuals. The SNES buttons and faceplates are awesome. But, I'm wondering how much I'll notice the difference in screen size.

Also, the new 3DS has improved hardware, right? Will it do anything for the ridicolous lag in Pokémon battles?

screens will seem tiny compared to the XL, but depending on the XL screen type you have, the color/contrast could be an improvement

games still lag regardless

Are there differences in screen quality depending on the model? Is there a way to tell if one has a good or bad screen?

it is available, via Happy Home Designer or the Pokemon 20th Anniversary editions

You don't need more than one system for that if you have more than one gen 6 game with the GTS.

I didnt notice much differnce in image quality desu

I like the small n3ds for faceplates tho. I only bought 1 faceplate asides from the ones i got in the box so, i dunno if that was such a big deal afterall

The 3D feature is certainly better (face detection, rather than angling a certain way, and much less headaches), and it plays Smash Bros faster. personally recommend an XL because tiny screens just arent the future to me.

I did it OP,I find it more comfortable and I have big hands

I went from a 3ds xl to a n3ds, still have both but I exclusively use the n3ds, the screen is smaller but it has a better ppi, and I lucked out by getting ips screen, games perform the same on both
