Why does /vp/ hate this game?
>better graphics than XY
>more open world than XY
>more challenging than XY
>you can actually enable 3D in the overworld, unlike XY
I mean you could argue that some of the characters look goofy and ugly but that's the point, in the game they are less like Pokemon and more like ghosts and you're the ghostbusters.
The people who hate this game are shills paid by TPCi. Just ignore them, true /vp/ absolutely loves Yo-Kai Watch.
I actually played the one they released here
While I like a lot of Yokai designs, the 'combat' is atrocious and easy (I was able to steamroll the game with some Yokai I got relatively early), finding and capturing Yokai is awful (It's completely RNG based, and you only get one opportunity per battle), most good Yokai are exclusive to Crank-a-Kai (Mobage bullshit), and while I liked how it took place in one city, it's extremely annoying to navigate.

kek

/vp/ is crawling with autists who seriously believe that you can't like more than one monster catching game.
I played the demo
The gameplay sucks

Nice meme

I like the porn

Basically.
>gameplay barely constitutes as gameplay
>getting additional Yokai is a complete chore>looks worse than gen 6
>game is fairly directionless and the city is a bore to navigate
And personally the designs and music doesn't appeal to me. I mean the music sounds like someone's high school music project.

Because it isn't challenging its tedious, and the combat is fucking atrocious.
I feel like its target audience is much younger than Pokémon. It is fairly easy. I've watched my daughter play it, and while some stuff confuses her on it (the fact that it isn't straight turn based like Pokémon throws her off), she enjoys it. Also she's five.

>implying i have even seen gameplay of this
i just dont care about it

I think the only thing it really does better than Pokemon is the overworld, the story, and the combat*.
I play pokemon mainly for one thing: to get my fix of cute superpowered animals. And Yokai watch doesn't give me that, it has maybe... 5 or 6 creatures that I like aesthetically, not counting the countless recolors and ones that were literally just given a new hat or something.
That being said, yo-kai watch knows what it is and it's not pokemon.
*battles in yo-kai watch's campaign are infinitely better than pokemon's "campaign", however pokemon does introduce more interesting mechanics like double battles/rotation battles that never get used until endgame, which are easily on par with or better than yo-kai watch's system.
>Pokémon killer
That's all the reason I need
What is this shit senpai
>>27566122
It's cute. I have no problem with it.

They really aren't, the battle mechanics are so woefully bare bones that a baby with no prior experience could play the game, mostly because the game plays itself outside of specials and whatnot.
Anyway, the ease of the game makes XY look like Monster Hunter by comparison making the whole ordeal feel like a chore.

I played it and honestly got incredibly bored by the end
