Okay guys, hear me out.
We all know Alola is getting some exclusive Pokemon called Alolan forms. Since this region is only made of four (five) islands I think it would be pretty easy for Game Freak to recycle this region in the future games, also there are no gyms here. That's a reason to get Alolan forms in the future games.
What do you think? Alola confirmed for gen 8? Think about it.

In essence, they are. They function exactly how they did in the past, it's just they don't go by the traditional "X-type gym" names.

There will be Alola forms in future games,
But they'll never put two regions in one game like they did with GS.
The only reason they did that was because the regions were so small.
And if Alola was small enough to fit into another game then it wouldn't really be a game's worth of material.
All I really want is some connection to either the Orange islands or the Sevii Islands.

Well, they don't really function the same at all though they are obvious gym stand-ins. Do we even know if we fight the trial leaders?

Nah, Alolan forms will be obtainable in future gens but probably from a Safari Zone place or through a special item.

I mean they have a specialized type so yeah that pretty heavily implies you fight them.

They could always go the BW2 route with a Nature Preserve you can access after beating the game, and the Alolan form Pokemon could be in there alongside some other rarities.
