Never again is kind of a stretch but I wouldnt expect seeing them until at least gen 9. It's like Cross gen evos, they appear every two gens or so.

Every gen had cross gen evos. I truly don't think they will happen again, at least not for a VERY long time. Not counting eevee of course So many fucking babies complained about gen 4's evos, then there's eviolite, megas, and now regional forms to get around any need for evos
