Can I be real? I actually like how much bulk has amassed in the Pokemon games. You can basically discover the entire history of the series just by playing the game. Going back from that would feel like such a step back. I think if anything, they need to retool how the games are designed a bit. Let it be easily possible to start new runs, it currently discourages that. We also don't need both Plates and the old type-boosters, they do the same thing. Get rid of one of them.

It's not really inconceivable to imagine it lasting 50 or more years, it's a very open-ended and exploitable universe, there's plenty of ways you can expand it, it has a pretty dedicated fan base and universal appeal across a large age group. If film, TV, comic franchises can last for such a long time, I don't see why something like Pokemon can't.
