Op; not quite sure what you mean. Animal cries in general are very simple and one-note (bark, meow, squawk, etc.)

If you mean them going "Squirtle, Squirtle!"... they won't. That was purely an invention of the anime.

Gamefreak hates breaking tradition. It took 7 gens for them to finally drop the gym shit. I'm sure we'll get real cries eventually, but it'll be a fight the whole way through.

I would actually prefer animal sounds (or abstract depending on the Pokemon) over the anime versions, the "chiptune" sounds are starting to feel out of place.

Pikachu says his name in one of the newer games and a lot of the promo material though.

Anyways I'm glad they managed to differentiate the cries enough. Like Charizard and Rhyhorn for example. Those were blatantly the same cry. Kanto's cries were pretty much different variations of like 20 or so cries anyways.
