>Smeargle
Steel
Alolan Smeargle have solid, sharp tails, which they use as chisels. They use these to sculpt elaborate and highly detailed statues.
Ability -- Disguise
Alolan Smeargle enters battle hiding behind a statue of itself.
Fuuuuuuck, I need it.
>>27519536
>Wooper
Fire/Ground
Hunted by Bruxish in Alola, Wooper took it's ass to the bubbling mud pools near the volcano. It now bathes in the mud absorbing the heat energy and expelling gas and smoke from it's modified barbs. When it feels in danger it expels a flurry of smoke while concentrating energy toward the thin membranes on it's stomach to create a blinding flash of light, this causes predators to become disoriented.
>Quagsire
It will usually cake it's body in mud and ash to insulate the energy it accumulated as a wooper, if this energy is depleted too much the quagsire willdie. The frill on it's tail and back has a thin membrane, showcasing the energy flowing through it's body. Quagsire will lay on their stomachs in mud flows and pools while undulating their frills to mimic lava flow.

>>27520465
Yes, that's his gimmick after all.
I was thinking that it would sacrifice speed for HP or defenses.
Alola Infernape
Flying/Fighting
Instead of fire, it generates clouds of hot air, that it rides at astonishing speeds.
>fire type becomes water type!
>water type becomes fire type!
I hope the real ones aren't all this.
>grass/water type
>>27519536
>>27520537
This is a good point. Let's try to be at least somewhat creative.
Water Growlithe
Alola Seaking
Water/Fighting
Extremely territorial. Any pokémon that gets close is quickly met with a fierce onslaught of blows.
Fire Vaporeon
>Blaziken
Fire/Flying
As a result of predation, Torchic introduced to Alola fled to the steep cliffsides. In order to survive, Torchic gains stronger wings as it evolves, sacrificing fighting prowess. The fully evolved Blaziken have longer head fringes, which act as a rudder in flight, and have large wings instead of clawed arms. These Blaziken patrol the sky to keep their nests safe from harm.
Has Gale Wings instead of Speed Boost.
>>27519536
> Woobat
> Flying/Ghost type
> Ability: Simple/Cursed Body
> Takes inspiration from Hawaiian Hoary Bats
> Found around the volcano areas of Alola
> Reddish grey colour rather than its usual blue-grey
> Less bushy fur to cope with the warmer climate
Focused more on Flying type moves than Swoobat, with a smattering of Ghost-type moves in there for good measure. I thought the Ghost typing suited the idea that Hoary Bats are usually very solitary. Its evolution into Swoobat makes it grey with a reddish tuft of fur around its neck, with slightly drooping ears and larger wings.
Alola Arbok
Poison/Psychic
Due to the abundance of fairy types in Alola the introduced Arbok became overfed and lethargic, taking lazy lifestyles because food was always guaranteed. They developed psychic abilities by sheer force of lethargy so that they have minimal required activity to catch prey.
Eventually Yungoos were introduced to try and control the Arbok population.
High HP, special attacker, somewhat defensive.

I mean.... Frillish is a ghost type and it isn't dead.
And most Ghost-types can be bred, so they hatch from eggs...
So either Ghost-types aren't actually dead or you're running around with an aborted fetus in a ball.
>Victreebel
Grass/Water
Found in rainforests after particularly humid, wet periods, Alolan Victreebel lack the toxicity of their cousins. They collect rainwater in their body cavities, which is scented by chemicals produced by them. Lured prey will attempt to drink this sweetened water, only to have their heads caught in a vice, resulting in them drowning to death. Alolan Victreebel can than easily swallow the deceased victim whole.
Has Storm Drain instead of Chlorophyll.

Alola Torkoal
Fire/Steel
Living in the crater of the volcano caused its hard shell to temper into a steel-like material. The heat inside its fire is incredibly high, causing minerals inside its body to melt and boil over.
>>27521163
wait who is dead, Boyacky or Tonzra? I know Doronjo's still alive.
Heres alolan slugma
Alola Skarmory
Flying
Lacking the harsh thorny nesting bushes of their native environment, Alola Skarmory cannot develop the hard, metal-like skin they're known for. The benefit to this is that they're far lighter and can fly further and faster.
>>27521232
Tonzra. Doronjos 81, Boyacky's 85 this month.
We also lost Dokurubei back in 2011. He was the oldest of the bunch though, and was 80 at his death.
>Dragonite
Dragon/Water
The vast aquatic ecosystem and numerous grottos make Alola an excellent habitat for this aquatic subspecies of Dragonite. They lack wings, but have a longer tail, making them resemble their prior forms. Legends say nobody can drown in Alola's seas, as the Alolan Dragonite will quickly rescue and return the victims to land.
Loses Inner Focus, gains Swift Swim.

I feel like Pokemon that are distinctly a plant or a fish wouldn't work so well for Alola types. You'd have to retain their grass type.
>>27521338
I'd rather see one with armor that is too heavy for it to fly. Boost the defenses and gain a weakness to fighting. Maybe make it's head crest or beak bigger.

>>27520262
Alola Oddish -- Grass/Water
With more daytime hours making its ideal lifestyle difficult, Oddish in the Alola region have adapted to settle under the ocean floor. The leaves on its head have become kelp, which it can control to ensnare targets.
>>27519696
Haha at least then we would have a quadruped tiger looking pokemon. Kinda looks more like a tabby though.
>>27520262
>This is Finedish.
Qwilfish
Steel/Poison
Living in waters that have a high level of minerals due to the volcanoes, it now resemblances a mine even more than before. Swimmers are warned to avoid areas where schools of Alola qwilfish are floating around.
>>27521340

Grass/Water Oddish
It floats just below the waters surface, taking in light from its leaves while hiding its body. At night it comes ashore to take in minerals from the mud in the shallows.
Oddish has water lily leaves that sag down like dreadlocks when its on land.
Gloom has a large flowerbud with the same lily leaves.
Vileplum has a large water lily flower on its head.

How about a Steel/fire type Muk..
>Alola Aggron
>Steel/Grass
The lack of mountains to claim as territory forced the solitary Aggron to come together and live in family groups. As a result, they have a much better temperament than their regular counterparts, but that - in tandem with the lack of natural metals to feed on in Alola - has left them much smaller and weaker than other Aggron, though much lighter and quicker.
The absence of iron ore led to them instead eating iron-rich fruits and nuts, and like regular Aggron, they assist in reforestation of their territory after natural disasters. Due to the frequency of volcanic eruptions and floods in ancient Alola, though, Aggron struggled to maintain their food source. The Grass-typing they evolved allows them to better produce and digest foliage.

Alola Dwebble
Water/Rock
Abilities: Sturdy/Shell Armor
Although Dwebble are famous for making homes within rocks, the Dwebble in the Alola region take a different approach. These pokemon began to have fondness for the many shells that scatter the beaches. They began to use them as their new homes and gained the Water type to match its new beach environment. If they feel that their shell is not safe enough from predators they will then retreat into the ocean.
Alola Crustle
Water/Rock
Abilities: Sturdy/Flash Fire
The Alola Dwebble evolve into the Alola Crustle and live in the oceans. Leaving the beaches they have grown accustomed to to volcanic underwater world of the Alola region and have rock formations that resemble deep sea vents. Magma is stored within these formations and underwater these vents will billow out mineral-rich hot water. It is common to find various Pokemon communities that live around the Alola Crustle.

It's eyes are now half closed and it's sitting down, leaning back on its hands, for most of its animations. It also has a small gut going.
>being fed by tourists have made the alola Aipom lazy and dependant on humans to survive.
>Ambipom
It has a bulkier body and looks more ape-like. The tails are also shortened greatly.
>The Ambipom of this reason have grown more savage as they fight one another to compete for the snacks tourists throw their way. Their tails have shrunk from never being used.
Furfrou
>Due to the need to blend in due to how domesticated it is, gains rock typing. Mainly found in alcoves on beaches so it can fish easily, as the local wildlife proved too venomous for its rich diet.
>Sheds its fur due to hot environment, now has a thin brownish coat, becomes very scruffy and wild looking, Collects gems to decorate itself with as a leftover trait from being subjecte to Kalos fashion for so long.
>Gains speed, loses Fur Coat and quite a lot of defence.
no art because i'm shit
Here are mine from the last thread:
>Alolan Cresselia
>Type: Psychic/Fairy
>Ability: Fine Cut– The power of cutting-based moves is increased by 50%, similar to Mega Launcher.
>Due to the presence of Lunala, Alola has a strong relationship with the moon. This has caused Cresselia to receive a new surge of power. Her appearance has changed, including her typical bird-like shape. She now appears more humanoid, with flexible arms, thin feminine legs, and a more tall and fitting body. Her "wings" are now filled with a web-like pattern formed by cosmic light, being attached to her new arms. The planetary ring on her back is now closer to her head and perhaps a bit smaller. The crescent moons on both sides of her headare replaced with a full moon, which looks a bit like a helmet on Alolan Cresselia. Her face is the same as usual. Crescent protrusions line her arms, legs, and back. She now appears to be wearing a cloak. There are celestial patterns on her body for a little visual flair, though not too much to avoid her being overdesigned.
>Alolan Cresselia is a Psychic/Fairy-type. She now wields crescent moon blades. She is very skilled at swordplay and uses these blades to fend off foes. Alolan Cresselia sacrifices some of her defensive prowess to increase her attack and speed, along with a slight special attack boost. If allowed with Alola Forms, she has a slight BST increase of around 30. She has the signature move Lunar Blades, which is a fast multi-hitting Fairy-type move with good attack power. She also learns other cutting and sword moves to take better advantage of her new ability. I'm not sure if she would retain her other signature move, Lunar Dance, since there's reasons for both sides.
>Basically, she trades defense for offense, gains the Fairy-type, and becomes a sword fighter.
>>27525539
>Alolan Cubchoo
>Type: Poison
>When it came to Alola (on one of the three main islands that isn't the one with the Mauna Kea equivalent, it shed its Ice-typing due to the hot climate. It instead feasted on toxic plants, using its remaining ice powers to sustain itself. Eventually, the chemicals changed its form. The mucus running down its nose is now a poisonous chemical. Its head fur is now black while the fur on its snout is a dark gray; it also has what appears to be goggles around its eyes. This gives it the appearance of having a gas mask. Its body's fur is a dark green, though its arms are a toxic purple and its legs are brown. Its tail now looks like a bright leaf.
>Alolan Beartic
>Type:Poison/Grass
>After growing accustomed to life on Alola with its new diet, Alolan Beartic takes a few cues from the plants. It put seeds from the plants in its fur, and the melting ice caused the seeds to thrive on its body! Its loses the gas mask look and the toxic purple now makes up the upper third or so of its body, including the head and arms. Patches of green fur protrudes from under its ears. The ice beard is gone, and instead it now drips toxic plant acid from its mouth. Its claws are now like rose thorns, and its paws are red with a rose-like texture. The "crotch hair" is gone and it now instead looks like its wearing bush plants. Its legs are still brown, though now it looks like its legs are like tree trunks. Three purple lines with what looks like red berries protuding out at intervals run down each leg as well, furthering the poison theme. Finally, it has branch/vine-like hair running down the back of its head with the berry-like things on the end of some strands.
>I started with the mucus that Cubchoo has and went from there. The plant elements came after I thought out how it gains the Poison-type from the plant life of Alola. I was contesting whether or not to use the fairly common combination of Poison and Grass, but I decided to give in.
The only unown hawaii would need

Alolan Marowak
Fire Fairy
Ability: Flame Body HA: Cursed Body
Marowak are found in the smelting heat of Alola's volcanic caves, their bodies having adapted to the high temperatures. The flames char the bones of their ancestors and produce strange tribal symbols on their heads and clubs. Marowak use these black bones to channel the spirits of their forefathers and the volcano itself. If these Pokemon hold a Charred Bone their special attacks to twice the amount of damage.
Rearranged BST: 60/50/45/80/80/110
Beedrill
Bug/Ground
Its claws are much more developed and larger than those of a normal Beedrill, and are used to tunnel through the ground and dig out vast subterranean colonies. The extra weight made it too heavy for flight, so the wings have evolved into barely visible stumps.
As they're raised in secure underground nurseries, Alola Kakuna has a much softer, pales shell than normal.

It's ears have grown wider to vent heat from it's poofy body. For an unknown reason the Wigglytuff's eyes have developed into a darker green color rather than it's usual blue.

fuck
Going with a lungfish concept here, elongated bodies and all, since they're lobe-finned fish just like coelacanths. It'd still keep a rocklike head but the rest of its scales would be softer to allow for a Dry Skin. That said I couldn't decide on whether to make it pure Ground, keep the Rock secondary, or replace it with something else (but what?). I'm also not sure where to go with stat redistribution -- either minmax it for ultimate bulk, or go the opposite direction and dump Defense for Speed. At any rate:
Ground or Ground/Rock
Dry Skin
Despite Relicanth having a reputation as living fossils, it's speculated that about four million years ago (relatively recent!) the Relicanth living around the emerging Alolan Islands migrated out of the ocean, possibly forced out by the development of competition or predators. By the present day they've traveled quite far inland, settling down on the coasts of lakes and beaches alike. During periods of drought or low tide, they burrow deep into the damp sand or soil in order to protect themselves.

> Ghost/Water type.
> Ability: Cursed Body/Rain Dish.
> Common Moves: Shadow Sneak, Waterfall, Aqua Ring, Sucker Punch.
> Appearance: Odd keystone is made of driftwood, and its possesses a navy blue and white colour scheme.
> Spiritomb are made from the spirits of the dead, imprisoned for their misdeeds. The people of Alola are more forgiving to these crimes than others in other regions, and in ancient times the guardians of Alola would offer them a chance to redeem themselves. Now only those in service of [Water/Fairy Guardian Legendary] remain, silently guarding their island from harm.
Inspired by the Hawaiian god of the underworld, who was also a god of the sea, and not necessarily an evil figure in mythology either, so I thought having their punishment be more forgiving would be nice, and leaves some implication that in previous ages Fire/Ghost, Electric/Ghost, and Grass/Ghost variants existed. Since the guardians of the Alolan islands are theorised to be based on each of the four major Hawaiian gods, and Spiritomb is already a ghost type I figured tying it into the rumoured Water/Fairy type guardian, inspired by the Hawaiian god of water and the oceans above, would be nice.

Dry Skin
When Mudkip were introduced to Alola, they found fierce competition among the region's fresh waterways. Instead, they found a home inside the cave network that connects the four islands. Mudkip spend their whole lives inside these caves without ever seeing a single ray of sunlight. Over time Alolan Mudkip it lost it's sense of sight and its skin lost pigment, turning the Pokemon a pale pink color. It detects prey using the fin on it's head to detect faint vibrations in the water. Once it passes the tadpole stage, it leaves the water permanently, using the darkness and cool temperature of the caves to keep its skin moist.

>Chimchar and its evolutions were introduced to the Alola region some time ago. In a drastic change from the cold and snowy Sinnoh where it was originally from, the dense jungles of Alola were ill-suited to the aggressive fighting style and bright appearance it originally had. It thus evolved to blend in more with the forest, and has taken to moving more stealthily and using tools fashioned from trees and its mobility as its weapons instead of its fists.
I can't draw worth shit, sorry.

Fire/Ghost Emboar. Large Boat shipments of Tepig were to be sent to Alola, but the boat riding along with them carrying the food sank. Tepig, very good dependant Pokémon ended up starving and turning into spirits, gaining the ghost type. They evolved similarly to normal Tepig but in a ghostly manner, creating this specific type of Emboar. They roam across Alola searching for food that they physically can't eat.

I figure it'd be pretty similar to regular tentacruel in terms of stats, but poison type moves would be replaced with an electric equivalent. I think it'd need its own physical electric type move similar to poison jab for it to look cool in battle.

I love this art. Honestly, Goodra could have easily been Water-type in its current form, but that's an argument for another time. It's a shame that there's a good chance the later generations could be overlooked like with Mega Evolutions. Heck, even though I need to see more evidence before I see it as likely, that rumor going around with those six unannounced Alola Forms that are all for Kanto Pokémon might mean that Game Freak will sadly only stick to Generation I.

As long as these are natural I don't care.
Rock type Slugma that dried up after forming it's habitat near Alolan rivers. It is said to have incredible defences, almost so that it absorbs all the damage given to it without even a flinch. On the downside, it's speed is disturbingly low, never being able to outspeed it's opponent. When it evolves, Magcargo is Rock/Steel, and it's defence is unbeatable.

Dex Entry: Living in the Alolan brush, Piloswine adapted to survive as an omnivore. It uses its specialized tusks to gore other Pokemon and chop down small trees.
>>27520583
The issue with this(assuming this is based on the supposed leaks) is that vulpix and ninetales were fire types due to associations with japanese fox myth and foxfire. the ice change was to account for an arctic fox variation along with fairy to incorporate the folklore theme.
Sandshrew and ...slash replaced ground with ice/clay with snow for account for a change of environment but consistency of behavior.
There's no such affiliation to carry over from fire to water with Growlithe. They're fuu dogs/liondogs/guard dogs/which ever regional variation you want to work with. Wreathed in flame is the traditional image, but there's no seaside variation or equivalent to the myth to spin it on like the others.
>>27520913

>>27538337
Well those seemingly are the only natural progressions aren't they? Otherwise you'd get shit like
>X Pokemon was taught how to be emo so it became a Dark type
>Y Pokemon hung out with a bunch of reptiles so it grew scales and became a Dragon type
>Z Pokemon is commonly caught by flaming faggots of Alola so it became a Fairy type
Anything involving nature makes sense as far as evolution and not Pokemon evolution goes.
>>27538471
>>27538337
both of you have good points but considering that the new variants had tree retyped into a dragon and two ice types in a tropical regain says that people here arrant really trying
400 gorrilion hours in Paint
Normal/Fighting male Kangaskhan
I tried taking features from Mega Kangaskhan like the chest bumps which look kind of like a belt. I also took features from kickboxing gear such as boxing tape and ankle guards. Oh and it's red because red kangaroos I guess. I figured it shouldn't be blue like the baby or brown like the mother. I've always wanted a kickboxing kangaroo so ideally it learns a bunch of kick moves like Mega Kick and Hi Jump Kick and gets No Guard as it's ability when Mega.
As for explanation of why it's Male only in Alola, I guess I'll take inspiration from Nile crocodiles. The thing about Nile crocs is their gender when hatching depends on the temperature. Too cold or too hot and it's a female croc. There's like a 3 degree C range for being a male. Since Alola is sunny year round we can assume it's a constant temperature and happens to be just right for male Kangaskhan.
>tfw the thread is dead so no one will see this
This has taken a serious amount of time in Paint, mostly because I was almost finished making a Fire/Fighting version and realized how over-done that it. (His body was a fire-ball. Basically a bomb from FF but with arms and legs.)
This is still kinda a WIP. I want to edit it so that his spikes are frozen stiff with ice and probably add some buckles to his bracelets/ankle bracelets. I'm also considering toying with the coloring to better match the species I based the idea off.
I based it off of the Japanese Macaque.
Primeape are still in the process of acclimating to their new environment. They are not native Alola, and have only recently been introduced to the region. Their rigorous physical activity keeps them warm in the mountains of Alola, and during down-time they relax in the many hot-springs.
Alolan Primape is a Fighting/Ice type.
