> There are two conditions for performing Z-Moves: a Pokémon must learn a move of the same type as a Z-Crystal, and it must be holding the corresponding Z-Crystal.
Pokemon don't have to be the same type as their Z-Move; they just have to know a move of the same type.
cant wait to hydropump with my charizard
>Switch Alolan Ninetales into Kakuna
>Kakuna used Z-Iron! Ninetales fainted!
Holy fuck, it's basically hidden power+respective gem the meta
>>27511908
Wait, the Pokémon holds the Crystal?
I thought it would rest in the bracelet, and the Pokémon's item slot would be free.
>>27512055
Think Mega Stones.
>>27511805
Hopefully you'll have to have a non-status attack of that type, otherwise you could get some pretty ridiculous shit.
>>27511998
And it shall be glorious.

Charizard can't learn any Water-type moves.
>>27511951
Charizard doesn't learn a Water move
But Rain Dance Flareon is a thing.
>>27512098
But Mega Stones you had one Key Stone with you and then the Mega Stone with the Pokémon.
if the elemental Crystal is with the Pokémon, then why the bracelet? Do we need two of each type?
>>27511900
>not seeing the potential of mega stones + z-power pokemon
>>27512164
Huh, this makes me think, are Z-Moves physical or special, or will it be type-dependent like before the phys/spec split? Or do they use whatever attack stat is higher?
>>27512175
Doubt you can use both at a time tho
>>27512199
Fixed damage equal to 4 times the user's level.

Serperior with Sunny Day. Now it gets one time Fire coverage and can run HP Rock/Ground. Glorious.
>>27512308
Allright call me newfag but why the fuck do you call him fug?
>>27512435
Flying is Flug in german, some german anon posted a screnshot with Rayquaza once and someone editedit to Fug.
>>27512435
Flug is the flying iirc, and is what a German anon tried giving away I think. Meme status because Fug and flug were close. I'm not 100% sure
>>27512161
>HP Water
>>27511951
HIDDEN POWER WATER
>>27512435
The German word for "Flying" is "Flug", which someone edited to "Fug" in reference to Spurdo Sparde's shitpost speech.

Oh shit 4x weakness are going to be destroyed with These moves.
I can't wait to fuck Lando whenever
>>27512498
>>27512501
somehow I doubt that will be allowed
>you can only use the z-move once
>you have to sacrifice your held item for it
so if you choose to give your azumarill a psychic stone and then your opponent switches in a dark type pokemon when you use the z-move...that's basically a waste of a move slot and an item slot.

it's called prediction yo
>>27512237
>fixed damage
What's the point of them being a certain type then?
These are just one time use moves, right?
It sounds like it'll be just another Natural Gift.
If the Pokemon needs to know a certain type move to use the certain Z-move, it might be even worse than Natural Gift.
>>27512498
Hidden Power probably only counts as a Normal-type move, since that's what it's programmed as.
I'm pretty sure they're gonna restrict it to naturally learned moves only, otherwise the meta just got completely assfucked.
>>27512849
i'm assuming status moves aren't going to count? some moves get very very wide distribution.
>toxic
>curse
>rest
>protect
that is 4 out of the 18 types right there....
>>27512886
Isn't curse a ??? type move or did they change that?
>>27512849
No it won't, because:
a) All pokemon don't learn natural gift
b) These are almost guaranteed to be powerhouse moves
c) They can be paired with a good move and take up zero spots.
>can multiple pokemon on the same team use z-moves in a battle?
>can only one type of z-move be used by a trainer?
>>27512928
It's ghost type
>>27512956
>All pokemon don't learn natural gift
Well yes, that's true.
Although if they do decide to put out DP remakes, it is very likely we'll get a Natural Gift tutor.
>All Pokémon who can learn TMs can learn Natural Gift.
It's supposed to be like Hidden Power as far as accessibility goes, but it's a big if, anyways.
I just think it would be a lot better if we didn't need to carry a type matching move to use it.
>>27512758
Or you could take the gamble and have a chance of OHKOing whatever switches in that doesn't resist the type.
>>27512138
>Sylveon now OHKOs everything in the game
Thank god Megas can't use Z Moves at least.
That reminds me though, will Z Moves have two versions for physical and special? Because a whole bunch of Pokemon suddenly get locked out from viability unless that happens OR Z Moves are based on a different damage calculator.
>>27512776
Probably, I could see Porygon becoming a pretty good Z-Attack candidate.
>Swampert learns Sludge Wave, Sludge, and Toxic

are they consumed? I assumed they'd work like mega stones
>>27512435

>>27513238
>Ferrothorn
>>27512501
The move's typing is normal though.
>>27513296
Hey, you dropped this.
>>27511805
you still have to give up an item slot for z moves and there is already natural gift azu, so i don't think it would be a better option than that since you can have that and another mon with a z move if you're into luring threats
>>27511908
>Z-Move M-Fug
My body is ready.
>delphox is finally useful because it can Z-move magician and steal the opponent's Z-crystal
>>27513203
I would imagine to solve half the problems in this thread, Z-moves are based off the typing of the attack that the Z-move is based off. Solarbeam for a Grass Z-move makes a special Bloom Doom. Vine Whip would make a physical Bloom Doom.
