This is the one thing keeping me from believing in that mermaid/siren thing. Why would they just drop the circus sea lion concept? Of all the starters, that seems to be the most obvious laid out path for it. Yes, Tepig doesn't really follow this rule, but everything about Popplio screams "clown"; its appearance, its behavior, its giant ball bubbles, everything. While the evidence is very consistent with the mermaid, I think I'm going to stay neutral on the line and just wait and see what happens.
