Maybe its idle animations are landed to show the dances better, or it's a prevo to something like a peacock or a bird of paradise (most bird first stages are landed). We'll have to wait for Rowlet's and Pikipek's final evos to be revealed to see if sky battles are really gone.

Eh, I'm okay with Sky battles going away. They didn't really add anything. Usually you'd only have one pokemon to participate and you end up losing by attrition. I mean, it's just a regular battle but only certain pokemon can take part. Not that much of a loss.
