Since Ash is going to win an actual league for the first time in a few weeks and finally become a proper Champion, how are they going to handle his journey in Alola in the SM anime? Wouldn't it be weird for a Champion to go around battling random shitmons to collect gym badges?

What if, instead of challenging gyms, Ash entered several "Champion League" tournaments where he could face the members of Alola's E4 and eventually the champion? They could even make Luna-chan battle gyms instead.

No, winning the league doesn't make you champion, it just means whoever wins the league gets to participate in the champion league, to battle the Elite 4 and Diantha, if they lose to the elite 4/Diantha, they lose and Diantha stays Champion.

I wish the games were more like the league in the anime cause if the games the games were in real life, there would be a new champion every week.
