Why does everyone fawn over double battles so much? I see people calling it the pinnacle of Pokemon battles when I see it as just a bunch of meme teams trying to outmeme each other.

-The official tournament format, VGC is doubles, which automatically gains it more players than it probably deserves
-A lot of game mechanics work very differently in doubles compared to in singles
-Team synergy and support roles play a much more active role in doubles, given that it's very reasonable to have a support Pokémon working well with a sweeper, and two Pokémon out which cover each other's weaknesses better
-The "meme teams" you're talking about are probably strategies. That's generally considered a good thing.

Speak English you underage mongoloid, how are we supposed to see your problem with doubles if that's all you give us?
I prefer doubles because in my opinion, there's more room for strategy, what with a bunch of moves and abilities suddenly becoming viable and effective. Just my ten cents, I don't have a problem with singles. Plus, VGC is fun when it isn't fucked by bad rules like this year.

ftfy
Because single battles, the actual mainstay of the franchise is broken and utter shit.
Why do I want to see constant switching out/switching in using even more meme tactics than any other mode??
Maybe if single battles were set only with a couple more rule changes (dont ask me I dont play competitve, its cancer) we might be able to have traction, but as it stands its such shit.

Because I like playing battles that aren't centered on switching every two turns.
