The problem with that logic is that it doesn't matter if Selene has an important NPC role to play or just gets demoted to Hilda-tier subway shit. The female protagonists in the anime are based off their PC roles, if Selene appears in the anime (I'm almost positive she will), she will take from that role.

Let's not even get into the fact that in-game we still haven't seen the starter stronger to yours, and we know Lillie does not use it.

There's a bit of a flaw with that logic there because the new girl would supposedly need to be from the region she's promoting because Ash is the one traveling as the new guy there. Ash's already doing the PC role there.

Most people in their mid-late 20s stopped watching the anime when Misty left (or even during the Johto filler hell), but me being a semi-youngfag (21 y/o), I grew up with the May episodes/movies in addition to the Misty ones and I... liked them.

However, when May left and Dawn came in, that was the end for me. Not that the anime got worse (it's always been pretty bad, desu, despite some good memories), but that's where my nostalgia for the franchise ends.
