I mildly dispise Tepig, Chimchar looks stupid, Torchic ain't all that hot, and Charmander is overrated imo.

Pretty sure Piplup is more popular than Chimchar, even to this day appearing in new merchandise. Gen 5 is a mixed bag and the entire Froakie line blows the other two Kalos starters out of the water as far as popularity goes.

Idk. Charizard was the stupid choice to. The first two gyms rely heavily on your starter, and fire sucks against rock and water. Bulbasaur was obviously the superior starter
