Gen 1. Gen 2 actually has my all-time favorite starter line, pic related, but Gen 1 is one of only two generations where I like all three of the starters, the other being Gen 7, but we'll wait to see if that holds when they evolve.

Gen5 has the starters that I am the least apathetic about. Everything else seems alright I guess, but Gen6 has my least favorite off the top of my head, I only like the Chespin line.

I'm 23 and I was a Pokemon fanatic since I was three but my family couldn't afford a gameboy and the games back in the day so the first Pokemon game I played was Sapphire. Gen I and Gen III are my favorites because of that.

I played Gen 1 and 2 by burrowing the game from my cousins but I never owned a Pokemon game until Gen 3 so that was technically my first gen since I never beat gen 1 and 2.

Favorite starters are definitely gen 4 but gen 1 is close.
