My gym would be different. It's not based off a type but rather the concept of luck, chance, and fate. I wouldn't have a particular type but the Pokemon would learn moves that are either random, risky but rewarding moves, and desperation moves. My gym is based off the 4 seasons and I use 4 Pokemon to represent them. The gym is inhabited by the Gambler/PI class trainers. The puzzles involve playing various games of chance with them(cup and balls, 21, etc., represented by QTEs), if the game is lost you must battle them. The gym has ancient Greek architecture and the trainers sit in between columns going down a hall, blocking your path.

To everyone in this thread saying that they're either "early" or "late" gyms, it is canonically confirmed by both Cheren in B2W2 and Brock in Origins that gym leaders have different teams depending on how many badges the challenger has, since "in universe" not everyone would start at the same town and progress through the same routes. You should post at least your no-badges team and your 7-badges team.

I don't like that many Dark/Ground types. Besides, Volkner and Candice used Medicham and Octillery. It's not canon that gym leaders MUST only use their assigned type, while it is canon that there's some leeway (trainers in Wattson's gym have Meditite with Thunder Punch, for exmaple).

And there's nothing wrong with having two Megas, you just choose which one you want to activate on a battle to battle basis.

The Dusclops/Noirs and Cofagrigus know Trick Room and use it to set up. Cofagrigus also knows Nasty Plot.

The rematch team gives Eviolite to the Dusclops, Rest + Chesto Harvest to the Trevenant, Life Orb Gengar, Leftovers Dusknoir and Leftovers Cofagrigus.

Instead of having a type theme I would prefer to have a strategy theme or something like that.

I would have a Crobat, a Ninjask and a Electrode, for example, being part of the theme the Speed and being able to hit first, I would start with Electrode using Thunder Wave, then with Ninjask using Protect and abusing its Speed boost, and of course Crobat as the "heavy hitter" of the team. I could also use a fourth Pokémon which uses priority moves.
