Yeah I don't know, those were the last good starters we got. 5 gen were awful, gen 6 seemed promising until we got the terrible final evolutions. Not hopeful about gen 7 at all.

I assume you're talking about competitive viability. If so, I'll have to disgree with Infernape and Empoleon. Both are very descent at battles, I don't know about Torterra since it has great tanky stats but GF shat on that by giving it a god awful, worthless HA. It really turned me off

Ok ok you guys are forgetting the main reason why the Gen 4 starters are bad, and that is because they have the WORST FUCKING FANBASE out of ANY GEN. This is because they mostly consist of butthurt 14 year olds who's first game was DPP and therefore those games have had the same effect on
them as Gen 1 has to Genwunners. This means they totally disregard any evidence that suggests newer gens might be better than Gen 4. An example would be that they ignore the fact that Greninja is leagues better than Empoleon, whether they like it or not.
