I'm an indie gamedev and I want to make a dark edgy pokemon clone.

Basically what Gen1ers want to believe the original gen 1 experience and pokemon mangas like PokemonSpecial were about.

That's the best interpretation of Pokemon. It's depressing gamefreak took such a route with its series.
