I've said it before but I can't stand Valor because each one I've met clearly never played the game and barely knows shit about Pokemon, how to pronounce them, their outlines, anything about S/M.

I got sick of it. It felt like I was in the group with the most blatantly bandwagoning faggots of all three teams.

Made a new account to leave this team yesterday night. Haven't decided between Instinct or Mystic yet. leaning towards the latter since most qts out of all three teams who surprisingly know an ounce about Pokemon at least.

My reasoning on why Instincts seem to know so much about this game and seem like the most legitimate fans is the fact that most of them chose Yellow because they were already aware of Zapdos' superior competitive viability compared to the other two. Insticts are already well aware that Zapdos is the better bird in battle and through type match up. They know this game which is more than what the general populous of the other two teams can say.

I wouldn't bash team Valor so much if every single member I've met irl without fail has been some normie who knows literally nothing about Pokemon besides pikachu. At best I've met two guys who played gen 1 but they were Chad-tier and obviously only played it casually. Team mystic people I've met offered me water when I was outside and sweating really hard, this was before they even asked what team I was. The other Mystics I met were putting down lures for a huge crowd at a popular corner of our city. The team instincts I've met are super try-hard, but understandably so as they have to carry so much slack. They've all been level 24 or higher and are either really obnoxious about it or super introverted. It's weird that people can be defined by their teams, but I've been seeing so much anecdotal evidence that I just can't help but stereotype them.

I don't like Mystic. One time I was sitting in my van at a local Pokestop when a sedan containing two fat ladies in the front and 3 kids in the backseat pulled up next to me. They were both smoking cigarettes with the windows up (I smoke myself, but don't do that shit with the windows rolled up in a car full of kids, Jesus Christ.)

I wanted to get them to roll a fucking window down, so I motioned for them to do so and asked them what team they were on as an excuse. "Team Mystic, woooo!"

I just smiled and said "Yeah, there are a lot of you guys out here. I haven't picked a team yet." (I'm Team Valor, but there was no way in hell I was exchanging team memes with these people.)

They then pressured me into joining Mystic because it had the "cutest players", and then asked me if they knew whether or not it was true more fairy Pokemon appeared during full moons, as they had read that on tumblr together.

I told them I didn't know, and just allowed the talk to to die before going home, feeling sad that there were people like that living in my town.

Never met anyone from Instinct because they're pretty rare.

All my friends play Valor pretty much, and literally three of them have the word "kike" in their names, so I guess they're childish as fuck, but I find it endearing.

Everyone here is talking about the kind of skill the players on each team tend to have, but that's retarded. This game requires no skill. Knowledge doesn't matter.

The true thing to think about is what type of player is attracted to each color. Childish rebels will like the red team because it's the "aggressive" choice. Autists, dweebs, and pompous egotist shits will pick blue team because it's the "intellectual" choice. Boring people and hipster snowflakes will pick yellow because it falls outside the standard Red vs Blue rivalry and they think that means it's the special "third choice best choice", different and indecisive.

I've been around Chicago and the suburbs near it. Here's what I've gathered for my play area:

>Instinct
Very few people, kinda like the stereotype. Only about 5% of the players I've met are mean, and they really don't care too much about the gyms. Those that do care are really good though. These people are average in every sense of the word, even when referring to Pokemon knowledge. Not much to say about them outside of them just being average.

>Mystic
There are a good amount, but you don't hear much about them. Many of them are introverts and don't really speak up about their team. Most of them are good at taking gyms, and they usually have good Pokemon knowledge. However, very few people look attractive. About 80% of the team is people with bad habits or awkward body shapes. They don't necessarily smell bad, but they're not people you want to go near save for the remaining 20% that are average like yellow.

>Valor
Valor seems to be the most popular. Most people on Valor are the really good looking people that play the game a lot and are really good at taking gyms. Gyms in the city are usually equal to blue, with Valor being slightly more prominent in the suburbs and blue slightly more in the city. They're very prideful, but because of that they're not the nicest to people on yellow or blue (although maybe 40% are). While they're good looking and good at the game, very many know little about Pokemon and will likely drop the game when Johto comes around.

In my area, it's mostly Valor vs Mystic. Us Mystics agreed to leave certain gyms to Valor if they keep away from ours. So far it's been a harmonious relationship against Instinct.

I was a valornigger until I realised instinct was pretty much dominating in my city. My friends and I all switched to instinct and, even though the gyms have mostly evened out, it's still the strongest team in my city. We have the cbd and the beaches, which are the most heavily populated.

Chicago suburb guy here, you've met other Instincts? Blues and Reds are the most popular of course, but the Blues I've seen are super arrogant and try-hardy. I'm in grad school and of the 10 people who play, myself included, it's 8 mystics and 2 instincts. No one is Valor. All the Valorfags seem to be children out in the suburbs.

The worst team is Instinct. Not only do they have the least amount of players, but they join their team precisely because it has the least amount of players. Instinct players aren't in it to win it, but instead to get into as many battles as they can. They'll attack a bunch of gyms in a row every couple of days, and lose them within an hour or two. They can't hold anything because they don't have the backing of a team like Mystic or Valor.

On either Mystic or Valor, you have team mates. Wherever you go, they'll be around to help you take down a gym, and station a few pokemon to hold it down. In many cases, it is quite possible to hold a gym down for several days and rack up pokecoins. Despite the Instinct players' concerns, there's always a gym to take down, and Valor and Mystic often have territories that are "traditionally" theirs change hands to the other team. Both get a healthy amount of competition, but simultaneously a reasonable inflow of pokecoins, so we don't have to fork over money to get bag upgrades and other bonuses.

Mystic and Valor are both filled with normies and seasoned pokefans alike. There are more on Mystic, but that may just be out of a preference for blue over red.

Instinct is full of edgelords who can't into proper team coordination.

It is estimated that globally Mystic is 43% - Valor 32% - Instinct 23%; other estimates are Mystic 39%, Valor 37%, Instinct 24%

Instinct is the under-dog; if you're looking to take on the most amount of unfriendly gyms then Instinct is the way to go (because everyone is Valor or Mystic)
On top of this, if the legendary birds are indeed limited to team color, Zapdos is the best option as it will be the best electric type (compared to Mystic you have Lapras, and Valor Arcanine)

Beyond those simple points, in my personal experience, people joined Mystic because Reddit/YouTubers/Twitch told them too. It became a bandwagon thing - everyone join Mystic. Imo the most unoriginal team (fair-weather players)

Valor is the contrarian to Mystic, trying to oppose Mystic actively - it's like all Valor players have a stick up their ass trying to be better than Mystic. In my personal experience Valor players know the least about the game.

I haven't met a single person from Instinct that wasn't cool - nearly everyone in Instinct is age 21+ and knows the most about the game compared to the others. Instinct players seem to be the ones to most often put down lure modules as well.
