>tfw playing competitive just on showdown, for years
>tfw have never breed because too lazy for that shit
>tfw there's no need to breed so intensively in SM
>tfw now I can start playing competitive legitimately in the 3ds without the feeling of years lost on breeding

well start following the news if you're going to ask about it
hyper-training, coming up in sun and moon is a system to change ivs rather than breeding for them

Im just really skeptical about how much we'll be allowed to IV train and worry that people re blowing it your of proportion. What if they're like Vitatmins? You can only boost your pokemon's IV by 10 or so, or you can only boost one or two stats.
People are starting freaking race wars over what might be an uneventful mechanic. If i have to grind 40 BP for a bottlecap, which doesnt at least max out a single IV, then i'd rather just play bike simulator and only max out my in-game party.

I agree, it really depends on how rare bottle caps are, and when you can do IV training. If Bottle caps are a grind, or you can only IV train at level 100, breeding with a 6IV ditto will still, generally be faster, or more efficient.
And if you can only IV train to max a stat, I'll be disappointed, because one of the best uses I can think of for IV training is Hidden Power manipulation. Getting a 31/30/31/30/31/30 IV spread for HP Fire on Magnetite is more difficult than getting a 31/X/31/31/31/31 spread with ditto and destiny knot.
