Generation 4 is objectively the best. Platinum is the height of Pokemon and HGSS added on top of it just is cupcakes on the cake.

Yeah platinum is probably the best game overall

In basically every regard. You're really only missing out on the Murkrow, Misdreavus, Trapinch, Clamperl, Glameow and Stunky lines. Quicker overall speed, expanded plot and expanded postgame are more than a worthwhile trade-off.

Both gen 3 and gen 4 were unbearably awful.
