The typing and the ability are both excellent, so the only way to make it not annoying is making its movepool crap - which is unlikely since ghost and fairy types usually learn a plethora of status and support moves.

Dunsparce is some people's favorite Pokemon, and it is very possible to make it have use in your team. In fact, that's why we have tier systems by smogon. PU doesn't mean it is any worse than OU. Mandibuzz went from NU to OU almost immediately at one point.

It's obviously going to activate once per switch-in. There are no once-per-battle abilities. It isn't THAT broken, and it will probably have very low speed so that it can't abuse volt switch, assuming that it even learns that (it isn't electric type, after all).
It'll probably work great as a max-attack LO revenge-killer with:
Status move (probably WoW, although Twave would be welcome)
Play Rough
Shadow Claw
Shadow Sneak/Sucker Punch

That would let it get reasonable use in higher tiers, assuming its attack isn't awful. It'll have stiff competition from pokemon like Scizor who can both revenge kill AND actually stay in afterwards, and it'll be even worse without voltturn.

Maybe in lower tiers. It'll probably be a physical attacker based on its art, so SD or Agility would be nice. It'll probably have paper defenses to make up for its ability and I'm guessing maybe 80-90 in its higher offensive stat.

The real problem is how annoying this will be to fight in routes - it was a huge mistake to make Sturdy pokemon so common in caves, and, as a Ghost type which will most likely have status moves and three immunities, this is just going to be even worse.

There are plenty of stronger abilities. It's a good ability, but I'd be surprised if it protects you from status, and it probably won't have the stats to one-shot anything on neutral hits. If it had a good mixed movepool and Archeops-tier stats, I'd feel differently, but as-is, I'm not too worried. It's a new ability which will need to be played around, but it's limited.

I agree with whoever said electric. While Ice and Normal are shittier types on their own merit, Electric has a monotype specific problem. Most types have enough variety that they can come up with ways to work around things that normally give them trouble. Most strong electric types have very same-y movepools, so something that fucks up one of them will fuck up most of them. Fire also has this problem to a lesser extent.

Normal may be a shit type in competitive play, but at least they've got something to work with.

Just to keep this thread alive, here's my prediction on its base stats:
20/100/40/70/40/50
BST: 320
Enough to hit for respectable damage in lower tiers or as a revenge killer, but slow enough that it can't keep its disguise up for long. Easy to kill once you get one blow through. Can run special moves for coverage, like a HP to hit something for 4x damage (Only Pyroar resists its STAB moves, but maybe HP ice for Gliscor or something) but will definitely favor physical moves. Its stats work well with its gimmick, but don't do much else. Probably RU, but with potential to be used in higher tiers, similar to Ditto or Shedinja.
For extra poetry, it has the same BST as Pikachu.
