it has happened to me probably 100 times when I try to catch a pokemon, or honestly it can freeze up any time you input any kind of command to the game for that matter. It happens when I try to Transfer. It's happened when I try to use Incense or Lure Module

If it doesn't work properly within a couple of seconds, it just means the server is shitting itself and you'll have to try later

Whenever I tap ok on the push notification (shown in the screenshot), my game crashes and I am taken back to my homescreen. This happens every time I launch the app. I've tried reinstalling, clearing the cache/data, rebooting, closing all processes, logging in with a different google account, but nothing works

If you have a friendly fight the gyms reputation goes up. Once the reputation is high enough, the gym's level will go up and you can add your guy.

However, you can only use one Pokemon and if you can't beat the leader, rep only goes up by a couple hundred. So, fucking have fun with that.

P.S. If you can't beat any of the Pokemon in the gym, nothing happens save for you having to waste potions.

Not many people on this board will admit to using cash in the game. I'm one of them though. Bought gold for 5 dollars. Increased my bag space and bought some incense. I have zero regrets because the instant bag space allowed me to hold more revives and potions.

Niantic/Nintendo isn't in this for the microtransactions though dude. Did you see how they made people zerg a section of Central Park for a Vaporean? If not, go look it up. That's serious advertising power.

McDonalds just signed a deal with Niantic to make certain store locations into gyms. They'll also be doing in store promotions with the game. What those are, I don't know. The game needs to add some more methods of healing mons.
Potions and revives are only attainable via random drops and level ups. There isn't even a way to obtain them in the store, nevermind the fact that free pokecoins are a bitch to get.

I have come up with 2 simple solutions to this.
1. Convert some Pokestops to a new Pokecenter location. You get a free heal of 3 select Pokemon but it has a 15 minute recharge.
2. You can set a location as a 'home' for yourself. You can heal at home unlimited times. Changing homes will require a microtransaction to avoid abuse.

So I live in a pretty rural area and there's a pokestop like a 10 minute walk away. Every time I go there, I don't see anyone playing around it. For me, I just like walking around and catching Pokemon plain and simple. I'll admit, I've visited a few parks and landmarks I never would've gone to without this game. Plus it's an easy, not time consuming game to play on breaks from work. Exploring a new area and finding some rare catch is entertaining for me.

And even though battles fucking suck and gym stuff is retarded, working together with both friends and strangers to take one down is fun. It's not a game I play obsessively or in place of others. I play it sparingly, and it works with what it sets out to do. Later patches and updates will only improve it.

Problem is that you won't be able to play "competitively" until you grind to max level and catch a maxed out team even if they add a revamped battle system.

The highlight for everybody serious right now seems to be just be catching and evolving throwaway pokes for XP.

I don't see anything revolutionary being changed in the near future.
The game will slowly die off with small spikes around the legendary birds and mew/two releases; until another major spike with gen2 pokes being released.

Maybe with gen2 they can launch more features, but I'm highly doubting they will actually do enough gameplay-wise to make it comparable to real pokemon.
