Considerably better gameplay than the DS games, though unlike most people, I never considered Explorers to be the second coming of Christ. Story is weaker than Explorers and especially Gates.

There are some little problems like the break system and mission difficulty rankings being useless, but the gameplay was really improved. Dungeons feel more threatening and AI is better for both your teammates and enemies. Expect to use your items.

The story has some pacing issues as most of it happens in the later half of the game, but I liked it overall.

Has the best music of the series, I think. They did a fantastic job with its OST.

It is closer to a true roguelike, meaning the game will kick your ass until you learn how to effectivly use items.

Otherwise ,it is much more engaging than the past games in terms of gameplay. The story is paced awkwardly, and is a little meh, and the post game is just kind of there, but the gameplay is solid enough to hold up.
