As long as it can be affected by light ball, I'm fine with it.

Well we saw Pikachu gets a synchro move so either him or Raichu are getting a synchro evolution. It's probably Raichu though.

How would you feel if Pikachu was given a Fug-esque Mega? Allowing it to still use Light Ball, throw in a super duper fifth move in S&M for funzies. :^)

It'd be an interesting mechanic for any stage-1 to have a mega evolution. It could give players a reason to not evolve.

Let's say Mega Squirtle had slightly better base stats than Mega Blastoise. Not evolving it could give you a certain edge during key moments but you'd have to take the lower stats when Squirtle isn't Mega.

The same could go for Pikachu.
