Gen 3's final evolutions are fucking hideous. Actually, I find most starters' final stages after gen 2 to be pretty ugly except for Infernape and Serperior. It's a shame because the first stage designs are still solid for the most part.

Gen 5's starters were MILES better, and even then the only real good one was Serperior.

Gen 3 easily has the best starters with each of them being interchangably good.
