I joked about how Ash might have Froakie back in the Trevanant episode make use of water when using Cut, but I never expected it to happen. It is totally different, it's more of a samurai blade of sorts, and pretty much takes the Iai in Iaigiri very seriously. Greninja sometimes even sheathes these energy blades into an imaginary scabbard just to show us this effect.
