I'm not trying to bother them about playing a game, that was the point, I was discussing how the current features (don't) work correctly and ways to improve the metagame, like having a timer on Gym battles so you just can't grind the Gym down to zero if nobody is there, also like how the Gym metagame currently has no point, which is why it would be smart to implement say a 1km radius around a gym where your team gets increased rare pokemon spawns if you hold it.

You're saying it's the players fault when it's just that there are so many players that are neck and neck in busy areas. I'm arguing that it is near impossible to get a pikacoin income from gyms now so it's pointless unless you're a masochist and it's only good for getting exp

My problem is that Gyms are disportionately harder to defend than claim. When claiming a gym, you can use 6 Pokes and attack together with friends and dodge attacks.

Meanwhile the defenders get attacked one at a time, have no AI other than attacking, and lose members as the level decreases.

There has to be a better way to defend gyms or at least some other reward for defending/claiming like raising the combatants CP. Right now, it just feels like there's no point, because high traffic areas means the gym changes color every hour.

The design of the game means that you can only win by having bigger numbers, your competition also gains bigger numbers at the rate you do so getting your gym taking over is inevitable no matter how you look it at so yes it's this specific game's fault for its shallow mechanics

My biggest gripe with the game is your moveset is completely random.

My 2000 CP dragonite has fucking steel wing and hyper beam.

Steel wing is one of the absolute slowest moves in the game. It takes two minutes just to charge hyper beam.
