Why do these guys get so much hate? Golbat, Raticate and Pidgeot are some of my favorite pokemon. Top 10 at least. I plan on breeding the strongest ones I can and making them my Gym-holding mons so they can get a little more love. I know they are common, but why's that held against them? Use a repel in-game, ignore them in Go if you don't want the easy stardust and XP.

Raticate has a niche, he gets Guts and can actually be somewhat decent in competitive with Facade. Not great, but decent. He also looks the best of all the route 1 rodents, and I'm not normally a Gen 1 kinda guy (zigzagoon+ linoone are a close second though)
