Gen IV is objectively better in the anime though. Gen iii anime was only good after ash left hoenn to do the battle Frontier

Personally, gen 3 has a lot of my favorite designs, but Hoenn isn't my favorite region. It's OK though. Only reason I had to start with Sapphire is parents wouldn't let me have video games before that.

It has some of my favorites but overall I think it's one of the worst, design wise. That is why I'm always clamoring for smaller gens with less filler. I'll take 50 good designs over 150 designs with less than 50 good designs.

I think the 8th to 9th transition and the fact that my bro wasn't into it anymore hurt my want to play too. Gen1, 2, 3 were best gens. Those were the only times we bonded. The feels.

Gen 2 had the worst Pokemon though. Sunflora, Meganium, Unown, Qwilfish, Stantler, etc. Many of them weren't even usable until they got evos in Gen 4. Not only that, but the level curve was annoying and many Johto Pokemon weren't even obtainable until postgame. Gen 2 is for faggots who don't want to fit in with the Genwunner crowd but are still blinded by nostalgia anyways.
