I agree with OP: if Gigalith had 135 special attack and a couple other random special moves, it would have been much better. Still a shitmon for top tiers, but better in metagames with less power creep.

It's clear Gamefreak has not noticed just how ridiculous this situation is, or they have realized it and they just don't care to change anything about it.

Yes, based on flavor text alone, Gigalith and kin should have been special attackers. However, what good would that have done when "Rock-type special attacker" is as yet just a myth or legend? Probopass is pretty much the only one with a proper STAB.

Corsola has Hustle and is just as much a shitmon as can be, so it hardly counts.

Gigalith becomes even more of a wall, stack that with the boosts from Sandstorm, and now he's also a boss mixed attacker.
