All of those are awesome.

For me particularly, my favorites are Galvantula, Typhlosion, Venusaur, Golem, Raticate, Beedrill, Clefable, Gyarados, Archeops and Machamp.

Galvantula was really special. I was always a Kanto/Johto baby, mostly Kanto, and I disliked most of Gen V's pokemon and also hated the games - but when I laid my eyes on Jotik and Galvantula, something just clicked.

Thats my reasoning. Ruby and Sapphire were really fun and Pearl and Diamond just didnt rab my attention as much. All the fourth gen games have going for them is that really sick climatic fight were you team up with your rival.

I don't think I ever grew out of the monstrous and 'dark' designs. I think I've always prefered the Pocket Monsters to the Pocket Animals. They appealed to me as a kid and I guess they still appeal now. But I like the 'majestic' designs as well.

So, here are the trends I notice in my favorites:
