Different species have different stats, like raticate is still shit even at max cp, and Chansey has an absolutely ridiculous amount of hp
Then mix in stuff like sizes, typing, random moves, etc. I know the combat system is really bare bones but that's a false statement.
Forretress is still going to be amazing when it comes out though
