I liked Pokemon Chronicles because of that.

It never felt like the whole world revolved around Ash and that everyone else was doing their own thing.

Since Gen 3 we've had so many new characters, it'd make more sense to do that these days.

but of course they only care about what's current.

I get that but I feel they should make a new OVA for each season boxset of the anime they give a home release to.
