I honestly can't think of a single significant thing Gen 2 did wrong. It's not even my favorite gen, but it's the only one that just added things to the previous gen without removing anything. That's not counting Gen 1 for obvious reasons, but Gen 2 also had the advantage of not being a complete glitchy mess.

I guess some can say the butchered version of Kanto in Gen 2 was a flaw, but I really don't think giving two entire regions to explore is something bad, even if one of them is not "complete".

shit tier sprites, almost all pokemon are the most basic of basics. No idea how people remain genwunners, the idea is to have variety and progression. Also I have noticed genwunners spreading out to gen 3, but it really isn't that much better. Arrogant, stubborn, ignorant pieces of shit who need to just stop playing. So I guess Genwunners are something gen 1 technically created and went wrong. The reason we got into those pokemon is BECAUSE we were kids, that's literally all we had - fuck your nostalgia they legitimately suck.

This one is too hard for me, there probably is a flaw but I'm not able to find it. I guess the going back to kanto was a bit redundant but that's subjective.

3: Almost all the pokemon from this gen seem to look like they were made out of rubber. Even deoxys looks like an actual balloon animal.

4: Ugliest male protag, Arceus - it doesn't make any fucking sense.

5. There's too much to bother listing, but the number 1 is Ferrothorn. Every single battle. While there is a lot of shit wrong with it, it's also one of the best due to being the pinnacle of a non-3D/model-based handheld pokemon game.

6. Small game, low pokemon count. It just needed more, that's it. It was perfect otherwise.

Most gens are like that. Hoenn has a ton of mons that are postgame only like Metagross, Milotic, Mence, etc.Sinnoh had most of the trade evos not available until postgame on top of being trade evos. It isn't until Platinum that you can get the items before the elite 4. Gen 5 had those stupidly high level up evos that might as well be postgame and they had event mons that weren't even legendary. Half of gen 6's dex is still missing.

Gen 5 fucked up with relying too much on the online functionality and having friends. Also, streetpass works better than what gen5 had now, and you're able to streetpass over the internet without much effort. It'd have been better implemented using that.
Though, to be completely fair, liberty island was pretty lacking, compared to the locations and subplots unlocked in events in gen4 like shaymin's place, which had a whole route designed for it, cressellia's event, and the HGSS event where you go back in time (just looked it up, it's the celebi event).
