I really think that GO is going to help GF realize that 9 year old Jap kids with a 5 second attention span aren't the only customers of their games.

Last night, I went to a Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions concert, (loved it by the way), and the Creative Director of GF (I think it was him,) was there. He said that this was the first performance since GO came out. He said that Masuda wanted to see just how many people were playing, and took a picture of everyone holding up their phones with the game loaded.

I'm not exaggerating, the entire venue held up their phones. It was amazing.

My point is that Masuda (just from this event) will see how teenagers and young adults are a HUGE part of Pokeyman's audience. Maybe he'll be convinced and change his approach to the mind-numbingly easy games, maybe he won't. But I still think the knowledge that the Smartphone Generation aren't their only customers will move them towards making less casualties games.

There's a huge difference from being a fan of generation 1 and being a Gen Wunner. Most people who jumped on the Pokemon bandwagon when we were kids (or those that grew up with first gen) didn't play the games, they just stuck with the show, toys, or collected shiny cards for cred (yet fuck all never played the actual games) and then instantly ditched it by the time Gen 2 was coming out. When I got into 6th grade in 2000 the 'fad' instantly dropped and playing the games was uncool. Yo, I've been playing Pokemon Go the entire time, and it's pretty fun. It's a cool concept to go out with my friends and explore the local area.

BUT there are too many fucking Go threads on this board. Pokemon has a lot of content throughout its franchise (the main game stories, the Pokemon themselves, breeding, battling, the anime, Mystery Dungeon, maingame gameplay mechanics, Gen VII hype, drawing and fanart, music, etc) and it's ridiculous that 50% of the board is being taken up by a topic that really doesn't have that much depth or content. There just isn't that much to talk about with the game, and taking to an anonymous Nepalese jewelry site defeats the very purpose of an app that's supposed to make you go outside and socialize.

You should honestly be banned if you haven't played at least one version from every pair and every third version in the series. Maybe even both versions for safe measure.
