Higher levels isnt challenging at all though, it just means more grinding.

I have no idea why Challenge mode doesnt give the trainers ai found in ORAS Battle Maison. Way smarter than any trainer in the real game, even steven, the final boss. If all trainers wee like that, then you would have to treat the game in a much more strategic fashion, making pokemon higher level doesnt really change anything desu.

Challenge Mode also gave the Gym Leaders, E4, and Champion better movepools and increased AI.

Because to make it worthwhile you need to put in just as much time into it as you need to setting up the teams for the normal mode.

Just inflating levels is cheap.

you do realize that it's mathematically impossible to win without some form of grinding. Even challenging the gym leader and beating 1 or 2 pokemon then losing... is still grinding? Even if you catch a different "type" it's STILL grinding. Literally every single thing you do in the game is theoretically grinding? That's the entire fucking basis of the game you mongoloid. You train or catch pokemon (both are grinding) and then you challenge the gym to prove that you've "trained".Progressing naturally through the story and challenging every single trainer is AGAIN still grinding, even if you don't challenge the optional ones. If you turn of the EXP share it presents no added challenge except wasting more time to level each thing individually - that isn't a challenge.

What they are asking for is a more intensive battle, which is hard to have when you know the types of pokemon you are facing.

Challenge Mode should adjust the level curve slightly, alter trainer AI, and give their Pokemon improved movesets / abilities / held items where appropriate.
