Ingress is pretty good about detecting it and banning for it, so I wouldn't.
Ruralfag life is rough though. I'm currently visiting family in the countryside and there really is nothing out here. Rate of pokemon spawn is so much lower too. For heaven's sake, the two gyms out here had a 39cp weedle and a 25cp pidgey holding them down. I put a 500 something pidgeot in both and I bet I'll be collecting those defender rewards for weeks.

I live in a pretty small town, and there's literally about fifty spots, marking everything from graffiti to fountains. If you really have no spots nearby, do you live in the middle of the desert or something?

Not OP but I live in a city with hundreds of thousands of people and only have two pokespots for miles. There are plenty of places that could have been chosen. Must not have been any ingress players here

Spoofing isn't advised its an easy ban and it stops letting you jump around every 2 seconds i've tried it stops allowing you to interact with anything for a while pokemon flee and you cant get anything from stops or go to gyms
