Urban, with lots of big parks and surrounded by water on three sides.

Poison, fairy, and fire Pokemon around the apartment blocks, water Pokemon nearer the rivers, starters in the parks have been the main trends I've noticed. Dratini in OP is mine and was near the river

SW England, all countryside in a small town.
Lots of weedles and pigey plus a few ratatas.
I have also seen lots of Drowsey, Paris, Gastly, Bellsprouts, Jigglypuffs, Meowts, Ventonats, Growlithe, Shelders, Clefairys, Jigglypuffs, Eevees and a few Squirtle. Not sure if eggs matter but I also got a Lapras and a chancey and now they seem to appear in the wild. I also on occasion get the evolved versions of these. Not much else unless I visit the river. In that case I have only seen Goldeen, Staryu and Margikarp. Hope this helps.

Lots of parks, but Somerville is or was one of the most densely populated cities in the country.

I walked all around town until 2am, and there were still large groups of people buffing pokestops. Kind of a neat pop cultural event.

Family and I on a road trip along the Oregon coast. (101) caught a lot of basics.
Clefairy in the mountains of NW Cali.
Seel when we stopped by the Sea Lion Cave.
Electobuzz (husband caught a 501, I cuaght a 264, so rare mons seem to have random lvls) at Tillamook Cheese Factory. Someone had a Lure up, I think it was an employee we saw walking around.

Lots of unclaimed gyms at state parks and the like.

Also starters in city parks with picnic areas and playgrounds.

I think thats all we have to contribute for now. Will spend a few days in Seattle before making the trek back to Colorado Springs. Will update with any major discoveries.

Thanks for the fun and educational tread!

Hello fellow 225er!
>>
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
West side of town.
The terrain is very flat and fieldy. Prairies. Hilly in some places as well.

Mainly seeing things like Ponyta, Pidgey, Rhyhorn, Geodude, Diglett, Drowzee, things like that. A lot more as well but it depends on where I'm walking really. I don't like using a vehicle, seems like cheating sort of, also excercise is nice.

Rarest I've seen so far in the wild is a Kangaskhan but I COULD NOT locate it exactly no matter how hard I tried. Got it down to 1 foot print away.

Netherlands, small town between Amsterdam and Utrecht
Flat grassy terrain, with shallow water and ponds
Mostly pidgeys, caterpies, weedles and ratatas. Occasionally get surprised by some better ones. Recently captured a poliwhirl but noticed a poliwrath far away which escaped frame my radar. Found some dratini's too but just when I was disappointed about losing one, I found a fucking dragonair which I captured in one try. Others that often show up on my radar, but was so far unable to track down are eevee, ekans, slowpoke and slowbro, oddish and gloom, sandshrew and shellder. I was also able to catch a meowth and crabby in another city more north.

And as I'm about to posts this and take a shower an eevee is right across my street. I will catch you some day you shady fucker

For some reason, Eevee is also super common around here, and I've caught 5 or so just in my yard. I've also caught two Tauros, so I'm pretty happy with that. Other rare things for me: Venonat, Caterpie, Paras, Nidoran male, Nidorino, Bellsprout, Paras, Ekans, Krabby, Goldeen. I'm upset I haven't seen a Zubat yet.

fucking dragonite appeared for a bit and then zipped out of existence.

Most normally you can find your average Rattatta and Weedle/Caterpie and Spearow/Pidgey.

Occasionally at night, Drowzee, Eevee and Gastly appear but I've yet to actually find one at night.

Apparently there's a creek running behind some houses across the cul-de-sac where I live and it looks like Staryu, Seel, Krabby, Kingler and Horsea can all appear there.

Is this quite possibly the most unbalanced video game ever made yet? You either live in the middle of the city or cannot play the game properly.

Living in the middle of the city also defeats the point of the game. You don't need to "Go" anywhere when you can just catch Pokemon and collect Pokestops from your couch.

I'm kinda bummed out because I was super hyped for this game, but I can't make it work no matter what I do! Can you help a poke maniac out?

I have two phones, IOS and Android, and both have the exact same problem: I manage to start a new game and catch a starter pokemon. Right after that, there are no pokemon or gyms nearby (A friend of mine says there is a gym and pokestop right in front of my house, but they do not show up for me!) If I try using the lure I get the error message "Failed to detect location".

My gps is working fine, if I walk with it my avatar follows suit perfectly. But nothing in the game loads and if I try to "summon" pokemon with the lure I get a error message. I appreciate any help I can get.

It's all forest

Literally 0 Pokemon

Can you only find Pokemon in bigger cities? Is the number of Pokemon based on the number of landmarks close by or something?

Route 1 shit, bug types, but I've seen Dratini in the nearby blurb, and I caught a Ghastly and Zubat too.

........... How much of a retard are you?
Yes, there is a LOT of mogrants in Germany, but it's SPECIFICALLY because they are a very rich country. That's exactly the reason a lot of "third world migrants" want to go here. Is it too complicated to guess, or?
>>
Suburban area, lots of pidgeys, venonats, a little bit of eevees. Near the casinos was a gyarados, and I went to the beach to catch better water types.
There was an abra too but the fucker ran away...

Mostly flat, some small hills, very urban, a few big parks to choose from.
Normal and flying types mostly. A few bug types.
Gym down the street had a dragonair in it. Then I beat it and threw in a Paras.

In terms of strength it doesn't seem to make a difference whether you evolve or boost first, however I prefer to evolve first since evolving changes moves. I would hate to spend all my stardust/candy to max out a pokemon then evolve it and get crap moves.

Midwest - Southern Illinois

seen tons of pidgeys and ratatas, several eevees, a few venonats. saw a pinsir (caight) and a tauros (escaped. sadness), some bugs and a staryu. missed a seadra

Serious question: is it better (stat-wise) to invest in a 30CP kakuna, or a 58CP weedle?
>>

Depends on the moves it knows as beedrill.
Evolve both of them, you might get a shitty pokemon otherwise.
tfw cp ~500 pigeot with a shitty 25 damage move

East Texas reporting. Lots of Billys. Seems like I've found no fire types, ground types, or rocks outside of eggs and really rare and nonsensical encounters. My viable pokemon are all eevee evolutions, there's so goddamn many around here. Pic related, my new edgy addition.

San Antonio, Texas reporting.

What I've found really depends on the location in the city. Shitload of Zubats and the occasional Ghastly at The Rim. Found Vulpix, Staryu, Venonat, Koffing, and Eevee at La Cantera. My friend works at Rackspace and there were a lot of Rock and Fighting types around there. Goes without saying that the standard Route 101 shitmons are everywhere.

Corvallis Fag here

Lots of Rattatas, Weedles, Caterpies, spearows, sometimes a Drowzee on the north side of downtown

On campus its bellsprouts, oddishes and other plant stuff. Occasionally a Magnemite shows up.

9th street has a couple of creeks and whatnot that pass through so you can get quite a few water pokemon. Mostly psyducks, golducks and horsea.

The i've found a pikachu and squirtle at some of the public schools at night (Corvallis High School gets alot of neat shit in the PM, most of which I was unable to catch, Kadabras, Haunters and an Aerodactyl showed up)

Most diversity is in the parks heading out of town towards Philomath (Pioneer, Avery and the Technology park on Technology loop). The spawn density out on Technology loop is pretty crazy, lots of business parking lots get 5 or 6 spawns there and they refresh like every 15 min.
