Whoa calm down. POKEMON GO IS FREE, THE OTHERS AREN'T. There is no comparison. Go might make a bigger profit through other transactions and probably will.

If the recent releases of Red/Blue/Yellow were free they would blow go out of the water, hell even I would download them. I have had to download Go 4 times because of issues and I have it on 2 devices, and I am not even fond of the game.

Just settle down and have a good think about why both of their numbers will never be comparable. I am not saying that one is, or will be, more popular than the other. I am saying that we will never know.

The current system works because only 150 pokemons are available, once the next generations start rolling out the game will become a shitfest, good luck finding 20 abras, or 20 charmanders, within an over 500 pokemon world

They know their market, the real Pokemon fanbase will always rely on the core handheld games to keep their interest in the series. Normies playing a smartphone game just expands their demographic
