Everyone is just hopping on PoGo now since there's new game hype. I doubt people will be playing this actively for more than a month, and it'll be good as dead by the time SuMo comes out.

It honestly isn't too bad, but you can't treat it like any pokemon game that has ever existed. It's a good excuse to wander around and explore on foot, maybe to places you've never been before. The game gives you 'poke spot' which are landmarks in the real world, and you walk to them (could be a church, a monument, a mcdonalds, a park, anything significant) and on your way there you can look for pokemon and such. It's very casual, but also very non casual since you literally have to travel to places to play the game

99% of phone games nowadays suck anyway, and the older ones work just fine on my phone, so I don't care about upgrading.
Though, tbqh, pokemon go is quite the disappointment. I'd only check it out and leave it after a day. I know. Any true fan would realize that, no matter how you play it, as long as you're having fun, it's cool. Pokemon was originally split into two versions to encourage people to interact with each other and play together, and people are intentionally isolating themselves.

It's a good mobile game but it's a shit pokemon game.

the game is basically the pokemon anime experience:

- collect pokemon by walking around and traveling to nearby areas
- meet strangers
- challenge gyms
- little emphasis on the details of battle

from the stories I've read and from what I've experienced, its actually pretty fun/unique from a social level and pokemon is probably the only franchise to be able to pull it off
