Pretty sure it's the other way around. I get "Nice!"s when I aim for lining the green ring up with the outer ring. Also the ring color indicates the Pokemon's catch difficulty. Green is easy, red is very hard. I had a hell of a fight with an orange-ring Beedrill earlier today.

Alright faggots. I need you to correct me if I'm wrong.

1. Size/moves do not matter if your pokemon can evolve, cause when they evolve the size and moves both change. source: had a xl/xl rattata that evolved to a xs/normal ratticate

2, cp increase is completely random on evolution. my rattata only gained 10 cp into raticate while my pidgey gained 110 into pidgeotto.

3. always keep the pokemon with higher cp. it saves you from wasting dust. overall cp progress (shown by the half circle bar) stays constant through evolution, so it doesn't matter if you level up before or after evolution

4. small circle = easier catch

5. THERES NO FUCKING POINT TO THE SLOW MOVE UNLESS IT GIVES YOU THE TYPE ADVANTAGE. JUST SPAM NORMAL ATTACK 2 WIN

If the gym has no leader it is white, all you need to do is be near it and leave a Pokemon

So say your yellow, the gym is now a yellow gym

Red and blue members come and fight the Pokemon you left. If it's beat to the point your out of prestige the gym is free (white) and can be taken by who beat you

If another yellow player comes to your yellow gym he can also leave a Pokemon thus buffing your defense, attackers must now fight both of the Pokemon

A yellow member visiting a yellow gym can also battle your Pokemon (training) it raises the prestige and you get some experience for fighting (not you the yellow visiter)

For every gym you have a Pokemon at you get a special loot drop. This can be done every 20ish hours at home and is in the shop menu. It's a little shield icon with a number in it. It gives stardust and gold form my experience but I only have one gym.

I hope this helps people, this is all just what I noticed from taking a free gym, losing it, retaking it, having others join. From the last 24 hours

Okay, I have some questions.

Every news source is telling me that rustling grass means a random wild Pokemon will appear. But I know from experience that it isn't true. I've just been told on Facebook that when you're tracking a specific nearby Pokemon,and you see a green ring flash around it, it means you're going in the right direction. Being the gullible idiot I am, I gave that a try and, sure enough, it wasn't true.

My question is, is there anyway to know where a nearby Pokemon is? I swear I walked over a mile yesterday trying to track a Scyther, but no matter where I went, the steps on it never went down. I have no clue how to search for a specific nearby Pokemon.

Does the app have to be open for distance to be added to the egg hatches?

One thing I can confirm is pokemon have spawn points, I took a map of my local area and started marking places I find pokemon repeatedly and almost everytime I go in those exact spots I'll find a pokemon a few feet or so away from it

do evolved Pokémon give more candy upon return?

Gym battles have dodging by swiping left and right. You tap the enemy pokemon to damage it. You have to beat the trainers at a gym enough times to decrease their prestige points. Once their prestige is 0 you can place a pokemon you want people to fight, or defend the gym. Two other people can fill in the empty spots if you're solo, but I went with people and we filled up all the spots as a squad. If multiple people fight the same Gym trainer then it will be a team battle, and you'll see their pokemon assisting you DBZ style in the background.

Protip: Try to conserve your strongest pokemon instead of using it to fight, just use the rest of your team to beat them. You can use potions and revives if you need to though, so you can heal up your guy before you place him at the gym.

If you have a pokemon at a gym you can train your other pokemon against it and earn more prestige for the gym, therefore making it have more defense from being taken over.

tldr; gyms are pretty cool

Okay. Why can I not find any fucking pokemon? I mean, walking along a trail for 3km and maybe 5 pokemon. I see a shitton in the nearby but they're all 3 footprints and never seem to get closer. Also, the grass seems to never spawn any pokes.

How do I git gud? I take walks with bf thru residential areas but find maybe 1 pokemon per block. All the 1 footstep away pokemon seem to be in peoples backyards. Where's the best places to look? Also, is there anything confirmed about what the grass flurries mean?
