Alakazam/Starmie/Gengar (preferably not Gengar because of Psychic weakness, but it can still work)

These are basically all the Pokemon that will destroy your competition. There isn't much else that's worth having, apart from Slowbro or Omastar, and if you're playing anything goes, Mewtwo or Mew over Alakazam (Mewtwo is the best psychic-type in the entire game).

You don't want shit like Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoie, Venusaur, Pidgeot, Primeape, Nidoking, Gyarados, Aracnine, Hitmonchan, Electabuzz and Dodrio. If you're making a proper generation one end-game team, these are all a big no-no.

Just remember, Psychic and Normal are broken in generation one.
