What does /vp/ think of Gyarados?
Should his mega have been water/dragon?

Everything should be /dragon for VP
Helioptile was going to be electric/dragon.
Mega Gyarados is interesting, as it gains a whole different set of weaknesses and resistances when it evolves. You can bait a fighting move for example and not mega evolve on it's turn to get a free dragon dance boost, or mega evolve to try and take on an electric move since it's only 2X.

Water/Dragon would have been a good typing before Fairies existed
Now, Water/Dark is a much better offensive typing for it
Also, if S/M doesn't give it Crunch I'll legit kill myself.

It does have crunch
>>27005789
One of my all-time favorites
>>27006748
ORAS gave it Crunch.
>>27006731
How's that? Dark is weak to fairy too
>>27006731
Fucking fairies. Ruining America and now Pokemon.
>>27006779
Yeah, but if it was Water/Dragon, it'd have to use Outrage, which Fairies are immune too.
Water/Dark is better because you aren't locked into Crunch, and Steel-types don't resist Crunch.

I'm pretty sure my XY Gyarados has crunch.

I like to use poison types with my mega gyara
>>27006604
I always found that a hard question to answer when running Gyarados.
I've found it better just running Moxie Gyarados and letting him snowball with that attack over Mega Gyarados, but then again being able to Earthquake Rotom is NICE.

FUCK I didn't know as I didn't play the awful remakes.

If you're using Gyarados properly, you shouldn't really need more than one or two attack boosts to sweep
Mold Breaker also means it's unaffected by Water Absorb, Unaware, and Sturdy
Mega Gyara is just better overall for sweeping
