Stealth Rock is not a Pokemon. But keeping them up on opponent's side are a big help, sure.

Rotom-Heat is the only hard counter. Plus a few soft counters like Mega Manectric that can switch into it and force it out once. Other than that you just have to guess opponent's set and hope things play out in your favor.

I finally found Crustle as a hard counter to talonflame, and the ONLY hard counter. Unfortunately, I have to invest almost everything into defense and HP in order to make that happen, but then crustle becomes dead weight, as it is kind of useless otherwise, besides stealth rock and toxic stall.

Any suggestions?

Also, I gave it rocky helmet as its go to item, so that it and recoil will just about kill talonflame alone, but I'm experimenting with other items, because a simple rock slide will pretty much just about kill it without rocky helmet. I'm always afraid that the talonflame will just spam u turn until crustle is dead and then sweep the rest of my team. Rocky helmet has the benefit of bringing talonflame within range of pinsir's feint, but otherwise it hurts crustle against all other pokemon

Un, Omastar? Are we talking smogon or battlespot because the math is different at lvl 50 vs 100. And why would they need to survive two? You don't need to switch any rain sweepers out, and you dont use rain sweepers as a switch in since that's not how you play rain properly. Aside from Ludicolo rain sweepers just take a hit and KO it in return. Furthermore, its obvious when its banded so you just switch to ferro, and set up rocks for the switch or just t-wave/leech seed and let it kill itself.

It really isn't that hard to play against.
